About

I’m Maurice — a Dutch entrepreneur based between Portugal and the Netherlands, with a career built on making things happen in complex, international environments.

Over the past two decades I’ve worked across commercial development, project execution, market strategy, and technology partnerships. I’ve closed deals on four continents, built relationships with government bodies, stock-exchange-listed companies, sports technology leaders, and fast-moving scale-ups. My work has taken me to 30+ countries – not as a tourist, but as someone sitting across the table, understanding what the other side actually needs.

Earlier in my career I led large-scale recruitment at StartPeople USG, matching over 300 professionals to the right organisations. As Global Commercial Director under an investment company listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, I learned what real accountability at board level looks like. More recently I’ve built deep expertise in tracking and timing technology for the global sports industry – an area where precision, trust, and long-term client relationships are everything.

I’ve also guided clients through some of the most disruptive periods in recent business history. When COVID-19 brought entire industries to a standstill, I helped organisations adapt – rethinking operations, protecting key relationships, and finding new ways forward when the old playbook no longer applied. That kind of crisis navigation sharpens your instincts in ways that normal business conditions simply don’t.

Beyond pure strategy, I have hands-on experience helping organisations evaluate, procure, and implement software solutions – from operational tools to customer-facing platforms. I understand both the commercial and the human side of technology adoption: what it takes to get buy-in, manage vendors, and make sure a system actually gets used. Increasingly, that includes helping leadership teams understand where AI fits into their organisation as a practical tool for efficiency, insight, and competitive advantage.

I’ve also been involved in the design and delivery of international industry conferences and client events – bringing together stakeholders, facilitating conversations that move relationships forward, and creating the kind of environment where real business gets done.

What drives me is simple: I want to help organisations do better. Better decisions. Better execution. Better partnerships. I bring commercial sharpness, cultural intelligence, and genuine commitment to every project I take on.
